Philosophy
- There is a sacred journey that a woman takes through pregnancy and birth and then finally into motherhood. I believe that a woman should be cared for with the utmost respect and compassion during this time of spiritual and physical growth.
- A woman has an innate ability to nurture her own and her baby’s spirit and body during this time. Therefore, she should play an active role in her care and be involved in all decisions that are made.
- The over use of medicine and technology during pregnancy and birth often brings about undue worry and can diminish the woman's inner wisdom.
- Women have an instinctive knowledge of how to birth. Women labor best when they are allowed to follow these natural instincts and birth by their own means. They can do this easily when they are in a comfortable, supportive environment and when they are not surrounded by fear.
- I believe that every baby deserves to enter this world in a safe, calm, and loving environment.
